Comparison of Hydrographic Survey Data with Crowdsourced Bathymetry Data

چکیده

A hydrographic survey is a standardized procedure for collecting data the production of nautical charts and publications. It lengthy costly procedure, so carried out depending on capabilities organizations. known that relatively large parts world's oceans are very poorly covered by surveys. To increase amount collected, International Hydrographic Organization (IHO) has introduced concept crowdsourced bathymetry (CSB). Under CSB concept, all vessels meeting certain minimum technical requirements (carrying global navigation satellite system single beam echo sounder) can participate in voluntary bathymetric collection. The paper analyzes method from CSB. depth collected as part compared with official displayed electronic navigational (ENC) United States America. Four sea areas were selected which 104 depths at same positions, categorization was also made according to criterion importance, i.e., category zones confidence (CATZOC). By comparing public sources their mutual relationships established, it be concluded data, despite its limitations, valuable supplement existing data.

Managing Quality of Crowdsourced Data

The Web is the central medium for discovering knowledge via various sources such as blogs, social media, and wikis. It facilitates access to contents provided by a large number of users, regardless of their geographical locations or cultural backgrounds. Such user-generated content is often referred to as crowdsourced data, which provides informational benefit in terms of variety and scale. Yet...

Modeling Nonnegative Data with Clumping at Zero: A Survey

Applications in which data take nonnegative values but have a substantial proportion of values at zero occur in many disciplines. The modeling of such “clumped-at-zero” or “zero-inflated” data is challenging. We survey models that have been proposed. We consider cases in which the response for the non-zero observations is continuous and in which it is discrete. For the continuous and then the d...

Huddl: the Hydrographic Universal Data Description Language

Resumen Since many of the attempts to introduce a universal hydrographic data format have failed or have been only partially successful, a different approach is proposed. Our solution is the Hydrographic Universal Data Description Language (HUDDL), a descriptive XML-based language that permits the creation of a standardized description of (past, present, and future) data formats, and allows for...

Comparison of Data Fusion Methods Using Crowdsourced Data in Creating a Hybrid Forest Cover Map

Data fusion represents a powerful way of integrating individual sources of information to produce a better output than could be achieved by any of the individual sources on their own. This paper focuses on the data fusion of different land cover products derived from remote sensing. In the past, many different methods have been applied, without regard to their relative merit. In this study, we ...
